Blueprint Gaming Acquires UK Games Developer Livewire Gaming
Developer and supplier of content for the gambling industry Blueprint Gaming, part of Germany’s Gauselmann Group, acquired last week UK-based games developer Livewire Gaming.
With the latest of a series of recent acquisition deals, Blueprint Gaming aims to cement itself as a leading supplier of slot titles across all sectors of the global gambling industry.
Based in Doncaster, Livewire Gaming specializes in the development of Category C, B3, D, and B4 games for the UK retail gambling market. Many of the titles in its portfolio have been developed in collaboration namely with its new owner, Blueprint Gaming.
As part of the acquisition deal, Livewire Gaming will remain an independent studio focusing on the creation of games for land-based gaming facilities. The company will retain its current leadership, represented by director Alan Claypole.
The addition of Livewire Gaming’s team will significantly boost Blueprint Gaming’s land-based footprint and development capabilities, particularly in the creation and distribution of Category C gaming titles.
Part of the Gauselmann Group, Blueprint Gaming creates slots games for the global online and mobile sectors. Its titles are also available across more than 100,000 gaming terminals at brick-and-mortar facilities across the UK, Germany, and Italy. The games studio develops both original content and slots based on third-party brands.
Blueprint Gaming is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission.
Building on Successful Partnership
Of the recent acquisition of Livewire Gaming, Sascha Blodau, UK General Manager for the Gauselmann Group, said that “Livewire and Blueprint have had a close relationship for many years, so this merger makes perfect sense for both parties.”
The company official added that they are looking forward to building “on our already successful partnership.”
The purchase of Livewire Gaming was the latest acquisition deal landed by Blueprint Gaming in recent years. In February this year, Blueprint Gaming acquired UK-based games developer Project Coin Limited.
The deal helped Blueprint Gaming significantly expand both its online and retail offering. Under its terms, the two companies agreed to adapt Project Coin’s titles for the online gambling market. The developer’s hugely popular slots and poker games, such as Mega Bars and Find the Lady Poker, were integrated with Blueprint Gaming’s Remote Gaming Server as well as Gauselmann Group’s hardware gaming solutions.
Project Coin is among the pioneers in the gambling industry with more than three decades of experience in the UK retail gambling sector.
In early 2018, Blueprint Gaming purchased provider of omni-channel titles for the gambling industry Games Warehouse from the Harbour Group. Based in Derby, England, Games Warehouse delivers innovative content across all channels within the global gambling market. Some of the company’s most popular titles include Wild Bandits, Birdz, and Gold Strike.
All recent deals aim to boost Blueprint Gaming’s capabilities to deliver content for the global gambling industry and to cement itself as a leading games developer and supplier.
